The five components of DC Teen Discipleship are:

1. ACADEMIC

We use the Alpha Omega Academy "Switched on Schoolhouse" curriculum. It is a self-paced, computer based curriculum which works well with students who have challenges in more traditional educational environments. Students are able to receive a regular high school diploma.

2. SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT

We use the Group Studies for New Christians which has been developed by the National Teen Challenge Curriculum Committee. These studies provide opportunities to learn basic Biblical truths and how to apply them in their lives.

3. SUBSTANCE ABUSE

We use material that exposes the realities of substance abuse and it's destructive nature. This program leads the student to: acknowledge their powerlessness, make sound judgements, understand the part their parents played, depend on God to resolve their sanity, handle guilt, and much more.

4. ANGER MANAGEMENT

No matter what situation the student is struggling with, we help them realize that anger can be managed. Some of the areas we address are: feelings of shame, learning ways to stay calm in a crisis situation, practicing self-control, addressing appropriate ways to express negative emotions, and much more.

5. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

We emphasize character qualities such as honesty, integrity, forgiveness and tolerance, to name a few. Students learn to express themselves in a positive way. They will be more equipped to make decisions, producing better results in their relationships with family and friends.
