About Program | Program Overview | Services Provided | MethodsDC Teen Discipleship is a place where teenagers grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically, through mentoring, discipleship, and relationship with a staff that honors the dignity of each individual student. Students leave our program with the skils necessary to succeed in and contribute positively to their families, schools, and communities.
Teenagers are the heart of our endeavors, and our first priority, thus we strive to do that which is best for our students, while always striving for excellence and professionalism. We are not here to take the place of parents, but rather to support parents in their efforts to raise successful children through temporary, consistent, and intensive, residential care and training of their teenagers. Essential to this process is a commitment to working with parents to create a home environment conducive to supporting the changed teenager upon his or her return to their community.
The process is long, so please don't expect change overnight, but please expect change. At the same time, we want parents to learn new skills in order to be more effective when the child returns home. We highly recommend completing The Parent Project course if it is being offered near you. We have a limited number of spaces available, so please be patient but persistent. Although I hope you won't need our services, we look forward to working with you in the eventuality that your child needs a change of environment in order to find his or her identity and purpose in life.
